High Valley Shootout

We took both teams up to Huntsville for the High Valley Shootout. Had lots of fun with opposing coaches and parents. Almost had a fist fight between a pair of them. Shockwave took 3rd and Taylers team (Shockers) took first place. Trophies were really quite cool.

Hooper Tomato Wars

Took both All Star teams out to Hooper for this tourney. Taylers took team took 2nd and the other team took 5th. The coach from the team we beat in the semi final game was such a sore loser. For part of the game she sat with her back turned to the field and couldn't watch. She then came back 4 hours later to the championship game to root for the other team. What a weenie!!! Tay got a nice big trophy. Next up is Huntsville.

Golden Spike Soccer Tourney

We had 2 All Star teams from Syracuse head up to the Golden Spike Tourney last week. Tayler's team took 2nd place -- they got silver medals, and the other team took 3rd place. All in all pretty darn good results. The team we lost to in the finals is a national select team and has been playing together for several years. We were the only team in the tournament to score on them.

St George

We decided to take a little vacation to St George for a few days at the end of May. We had a great time. Lots of shopping at the outlets, lots of swimming, and lots of sun. It was pretty windy which made getting in and out of the pool really cold but the hot tub was really close so no worries there. The kids all got along for the most part and we had a really good time. Hallie asked if we were there yet probably about every 20 minutes the entire 5 hour trip.

Blog Update

Finally getting around to updating the blog again. It has only been since August. So a quick recap -- Hallie turned 4, Landon turned 8 and got baptized, Tayler turned 11. We got a dog for Christmas named Tank and then we sold him after a month or so. Some members of the family are still a little bit upset by that whole thing -- just not me. We decided we would get the kids up skiing and snowboarding this winter. Landon and Tayler both did really well snowboarding and Leah picked up skiing pretty good. She still has some problems with sledding down the hill screaming bloody murder versus skiing down the hill, getting off of the lift continues to be an adventure.
